As we head into the winter months what is more comforting than tucking into a homemade pie. It all started in 2010 when The Crown Inn owner and head chef James perfected his unique technique for crafting individual handmade pies.
The steak & ale and chicken and leek pies have been making an appearance on the pub menu ever since and have always been a very popular choice.
Encouraged by customer appreciation and co-owner and partner Penelope, James has now developed a dedicated pie menu. They range from the traditional pies through to luxury offerings such as Duck l’Orange and Beef Bourgignon, vegetarian options are the Homity and Russian pies and vegan offerings are the Organic Mixed Bean and Seitan & Mushroom pies.
James always uses British, locally sourced and sustainable produce wherever possible. The pies are also available to cook and eat at home and gluten free options can be pre-ordered in advance.
The team at the Crown Inn are always up for creating something bespoke so if you have a specific pie in mind let them know! (The Pub Pie menu runs alongside the Classics Menu and Specials).
